Kimberly D. Borland, Esq.
Kim is a graduate of Harvard Law School and Dickinson College. He, along with his wife Ruth, are the head coaches of the team. Kim helps to coach the Extemp, LD, and Policy Debate Students.

Ruth Slamon Borland, Esq.
Ruth is a graduate of Boston University Law School and Dickinson College. She and Kim helped to found to team in 1997 in support of their daughter Sarah and son Joseph She coaches the Extemp, O.O., Declamation and Public Forum Students.

Sarah L. Borland, Esq.
Sarah is a graduate of the Cardozo School of Law and Dickinson College. She helped to found the team while a student at E.L. Meyers High School and was among the first students to qualify for Nationals. During her college career she re-established the Dickinson College Speech and Debate team and hosted a high school tournament. Sarah currently resides in New York City, but when in town or at tournaments specializes in coaching all events
 




Joseph C. Borland, Esq.
Joe is graduate of Lafayette College and a graduate of  Suffolk School of Law in Boston. He is the first state finalist and two time state finalist in the team's history. Joe continued his Speech career at Lafayette, winning a national championships at the Freshman National Tournament and also earning a semi final appearance at the NFA nationals his Sophomore and Senior Years in Extemporaneous Speaking. Joe is the team's head Extemp coach.






Alison McManus
Alison is a 2007 graduate of Meyers High School and a 2011 graduate of  King's College. While on the team Alison specialized in Policy Debate and qualified to both Nationals and States on multiple occasions. She is the team's head Policy Debate Coach.






Alexander Mertz
Alex is a 2007 graduate of Saint Joseph's University and is currently employed at Borland and Borland LLP. Alex was the team's first State Champion and a multiple National Qualifier. While at St. Joe's, he continued his career on the school's speech and debate team, culminating with a 3rd place finish at the National tournament his senior year of college. He helps to coach the Extemp, Student Congress, and LD students.

Maria Mertz
Maria is a graduate of the Penn State School of Business and Wilkes University. She began coaching when the team was founded in 1997 and is also entering her 12th season. While she has coached all the speech and interp events, she is now the team's head coach in Student Congress.






Dr. Philip Mertz, PhD.
Phil is a graduate of the Walden University School of Business and Wilkes University. Along with Maria he began coaching in 1997 and has also coached a variety events throughout his tenure. He now is the team's head coach in Lincoln Douglas Debate


 




John Monahan
John, otherwise known as Sherm, is a graduate of Susquehanna University. A Meyers alumnus, he is a former national qualifier in policy debate. He currently serves as coach of original oratory.





Tina and Little Guy Rothery
Tina is the team's second newest coach, and her son Guy is our newest addition. Tina has been involved in the coaching process for 3 years, while Little Guy has been around for nearly 2. Together they love coaching and guiding the newest members of the team to great success in OI DI HI and Duo!






Darlene Smith
Darlene has been with the team since 2001 and is the resident Drama expert. Despite having coached virtually all the speech events, she has found her niche at working with the upperclassmen in OI, DI, HI, and Duo.






 


Dave Wilson
Dave has been actively coaching the team for the last 12 seasons. As a result of that experience he has coached or judged every event offered. He specializes in coaching Declamation and also offers his expertise in O.O. In addition to his coaching role, Mr. Wilson is the vehicle and logistics coordinator for the team.

Ron Woznock
Ron has been coaching the team since his graduation from Meyers in 2008. During his tenure on the team Ron became the first ever National Semi-Finalist at the NCFL Grand Nationals in 2008. Ron specializes in coaching Public Forum Debate and Student Congress. He is currently a junior at the University of Scranton.
